Back in Kathmandu, we were invited to sunnyhomestay by Nischal. The family welcomes guests to assist them with farming, gardening, shopping, photography, and cooking for just a few hours daily.
After doing the Poon Hill Trekk in Ghorephani, Bea and I returned to volunteering with Worldpackers. We chose the Mount Mahabharat Homestay in Dhunkharka. This was our first eco-farm project.
I stayed six weeks in Chiti to learn about Nepali culture and support the New Marigold Academy. A lot of work was achieved to improve the condition of the school.
I stayed with Bea for twelve days at Heaven Hills Academy in Gaunshahar. We did photography, cooked Nepali foods, taught with local teachers and learned to speak the Nepali language.
In the last week of May 2022, I visit Phutung in Kathmandu District with Bea to volunteer at Possible Nepal. We taught English at secondary school and maintained their website.
In May 2022, I visit Bhaktapur to volunteer at Samta School, lead by principal Ms. Shova Tamang. I taught English, experienced village life and expanded their profile with a website.
In December 2020, I visited COFO for a week in the south of Malawi. Joshua, the director, invited me to record videos and take pictures during shirt distributions in Chikwawa.
In November 2020, I visited WOVICCO for a week. Martha, the foundress of the organization, invited me to record interviews and write stories of local people’s daily struggles around Blantyre.
In November 2020, I visited HYCF for a week. David, the founder and CEO, welcomed me to learn about Malawian culture and record interviews of local people for his organization.
